On a VW T6 California, there is a piping strip on both sides for all sorts of accessories. Unfortunately, the piping does not match the dimensions commonly used in the camping sector. So if you want to use a standard tarpaulin as an awning, you’ll need an adaptation here.

Instead of long, rigid aluminium profiles or complicated double piping, I have designed these small piping adapter blocks for our sun awning, which remain permanently attached to the awning.

On our T6, we usually needed five of them to ensure the sun awning was properly taut. However, this does not allow for a watertight seal. The blocks grip the fabric piping securely and slide easily into the piping channel on the VW T6.
